ABOUT
We have created The Langland Family Be A Light Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, to honor and to remember the life of Brooke Anne Langland who died unexpectedly in November of 2020 from an acute pulmonary embolism. Brooke was a senior in the class of 2021 at Liberty High School, North Liberty, Iowa (Iowa City Community School District). Brooke was so full of life and a friend to all.
The foundation is a private foundation created by Brooke's family. Any funds that are donated to the foundation will be invested in an endowment fund so they can grow in perpetuity. We will use some of the investment income each year to provide scholarships at Liberty High School, support the Liberty High School Dance Team, as well as support other charities in the area in honor of Brooke.
The foundation is 501(c)3 non-operating private foundation.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Langland Family Be A Light Foundation is to remember
and honor the life of Brooke Anne Langland who died unexpectedly at the
age of 17 in November of 2020. Brooke was a senior at Liberty High
School in the Iowa City Community School District and a member of the award
winning dance team. The foundation will utilize funds to create college
scholarships for Liberty High school students, support the dance team,
as well as support other local charities in Brooke's name. Be A Light Today and Everyday!
